Visa-Free Travel Decision Strengthens Türkiye–China Relations

“The Presidential Decree on Granting Visa Exemption to Citizens of the People’s Republic of China Holding Ordinary Passports for Touristic Travel to Türkiye and for Transit Passages, for a Maximum Stay of 90 Days Within Any 180-Day Period, as of 2 January 2026” has been published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, it has been decided that citizens of the People’s Republic of China holding ordinary passports will be granted a visa exemption for touristic travel to Türkiye and for transit passages, for a period not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period, effective as of 2 January 2026. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), China’s Ambassador to Ankara, Jiang Xuebin, stated: “We warmly welcome Türkiye’s decision to grant visa-free entry to Chinese citizens.”
This post indicates that the visa facilitation steps between the two countries are being positively received at the diplomatic level.
